Orba Biokimya
ORBA Biokimya San ve Tic. A.Şwas founded as a collective company in the Fatih district of Istanbul in 1977 by Mehmet Batum and Mehmet Orhon to start the first industrial enzyme production in Turkey. In 1980, the fungal alpha-amylase enzyme produced for the first time for the Turkish bread industry was put on the market under the name ORBAMİL EL. It became a joint stock company in 1987. It moved to its modern facility in the Tuzla district of Istanbul in 1990 in order to meet the increasing demand and diversified product range with the R&D studies carried out in the following years.
Today, it provides enzymes to various industrial branches at home and abroad, with more than 40 years of formulation, production and application experience. ORBA Biokimya Industry and Trade. Inc. It provides enzymes to four main industrial branches: food, textile, leather and feed, in its modern facility covering an area of 10,000 m² in Istanbul.
Production of new enzymes by deep fermentation methods and evaluation of different producer microorganisms are some of the areas of activity of our laboratories. It also designs and produces probiotics, prebiotics, toxin binders, bio- and microbial fertilisers, plant enhancers, bioeffectors and biocontrol agents. Thanks to the intellectual relations it has developed with Turkey’s most respected universities since the first day of its establishment, our company is among the few companies in our country with an R&D understanding in this field.
The fact that we have transformed this approach into a company philosophy has enabled us to go beyond the borders of Turkey and to have an intense information exchange on R&D on the international platform and thus a rich database.
